Living History

“We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

This project, given to me by Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, was centred around ‘living history’. Living history is the idea that when we touch something, we become a part of its history. This phrase resonated with me, so I decided to create these prints from a collection of wax texture rubbings I took from various places around the dockyard.
